Okay, so you have this really epic idea with a developed setting and characters. That's a great start, and it's time to think about conflicts.
Conflicts are very, very important in a story. It basically creates a story. Most the time a story is essentially 'protagonist wants this but antagonist is stopping them.
So, what type of conflicts are there?
Character Vs. Self
Character Vs. Character
Character Vs. Nature
Character Vs. Supernatural
Character Vs. Technology
Character Vs. Society
Character Vs. Self
Character Vs. Self is when the main character's antagonist is... themself. The MC may deal with dilemmas, guilt, or stopping themselves from doing something. This can be the whole conflict or maybe just a minor one. For example, in my books, I often have MCs battle with themselves, but that isn't the main conflict.
Character Vs. Character
This is when the MC is battling another character. For example, it can be a bully. Or a rivalry. Characters can be fighting for something they both want, for example, someone they like.
Character Vs. Nature
This is when the MC is battling something nonliving -- the environment. Examples include earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters.
Character Vs. Supernatural
Character Vs. Supernatural is the MC battling something that is not real in this world. For example, the MC is haunted by a ghost
Character Vs. Technology
This is when the MC is battling tech, such as robots. Most the time in books and movies a robot loses control and has a mind of their own, but you can play with it.
Character Vs. Society
This one is quite fun. This is when the MC faces struggles with the society or government. Examples include having less freedom or a post apocalyptic government.
You can use any conflict you want, or have a combination of them! Have fun playing with these!
